JL is a family run, full service sports Apparel Company specializing in customized uniforms for training, racing and playing. We make garments out of the best fabrics we can find, (recycled whenever possible), and use patterns specifically for each sport.
What does that mean to you? It means our garments won’t chafe, tug or rub because the seams are in the right places. The patterns are cut so garments move where should and don’t where they shouldn’t. It means our fabrics protect you from the elements, whether that means blocking harmful UV rays or keeping out the biting cold. Most of all it means these garments are designed and tested by those here at Team JL that actually do the sport you do!

My name is Joline Esparza. I started JL in the early eighties while training and competing for the US National Rowing team. It was my great honor to represent the US--I proudly display my Silver Medal from the Open Women's Eight, Lucerne, '82. Even though rowing was my forte I loved cross training days when I’d get to paddle and kayak with the world-class athletes that were also training out of the Newport Aquatic Center. Throughout my training and racing I realized there was nothing out there made for me or my fellow ‘boat movers’ that was satisfactory. So, I set out to make gear made for us, gear that’s made based on the seats in our boats and the range of motion our arms go through.
